About Professor Daniel Montanha
All Jiu Jitsu classes are taught or supervised by renown professor, second-degree black belt Daniel “Montanha” de Lima in a very friendly and encouraging atmosphere. Daniel Montanha is the head instructor at Gracie Barra Miami. Raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Montanha is an accomplished competitor personally prepared and instructed by Grand Master Carlos Gracie, Jr.
Professor Montanha started Jiu Jitsu as a child, and has direct lineage to Carlos Gracie Sr., the art’s founder. With over 21 years of Jiu-Jitsu experience, Montanha boasts an exceptional record as both fighter and teacher, able to teach a complete novice or an experienced competitor and help them achieve their personal goals. In addition to teaching practitioners of all kinds, Montanha also frequently gives seminars on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to U.S. law enforcement and military personnel. At Gracie Barra Miami, you will receive the opportunity to spar hands-on with your instructor with or without gi. You’ll learn genuine BJJ from a second-degree black belt under the legendary Master Carlos Gracie, Jr.
